At neighboring Quartier 206, boutiques selling famous fashion labels, as well as high-class cosmetics stores and jewellers, have found a home. The main shopping area in “Mitte” is on Friedrichstraße. Here you can find the most exclusive products designed by famous designers and Kulturkaufhaus Dussmann (Dussmann’s culture mall), which is open Monday to Thursday from 10 am to midnight and Friday 10 am right through to midnight Saturday.
Hip collections, styled by younger fashion designers, and extravagant footwear are available at various stores on Oranienburger Straße and at the Hackescher Markt, on Dircksenstraße and Rosenthaler Straße. On Unter den Linden, the traditional Königliche Porzellan Manufaktur (Royal Chinaware Factory) has its headquarters in a building with a 240-year history. They offer classic porcelain from all eras. Antique toys and jewelry are for sale at the Antikmarkt at the historical S-Bahnbögen (Commuter Train Arcades) on Georgenstraße. The Teddy Bear Store is definitely worth a visit. The Potsdamer Platz Arkaden, with 120 stores on three levels, were opened in 1998 and are now an absolute highlight of the area. The Gesundbrunnencenter in Wedding is equally popular: More than 100 shops offer almost anything one could possibly need.
