 Summer car celebration in Baden-Württemberg 2011In 1886, Carl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler each separately invented the automobile almost at the same time. The 125th anniversary of this pioneering innovation will be duly celebrated throughout Baden-Württemberg and especially in Stuttgart, the cradle of the car and home city of Gottlieb Daimler. There will be lots of events focussing on this popular form of mobility during an automobile summer that starts on May 7-8 at Schlossplatz in Stuttgart. Auto enthusiasts will be able to check out legendary vehicles from the past as well as cars from the present and future. Things will get racier during the Solitude Memorial, when historic racing cars, sports cars and racing bikes will be driven around the Solitudering race track from July 22 to 24 for the first time in 46 years in a recreation of the legendary Solitude race. ›› To the official homepage ›› Back |
