More than 250 experts and managers from international enterprises, institutions and organizations will meet in the Redoute Passau from October 6-8 for the 8th Intercultural Congress. Unlocking international market places and gaining synergies through global cooperation are more than ever factors for success and not just since the economic and financial crisis. "The importance of intercultural competence will to continue to rise. We are currently seeing how important it is to demonstrate on the global market that you can differentiate yourself," Prof. Dr. Burkhard Schwenker, chairman of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants GmbH, made clear at last year's Congress. "Understanding products and technologies, but also the dynamics of markets, and above all people -- this will only be successful through building up intercultural skills."

Subjects such as expertise transfer and market positioning in the international context are opportunities for expansion not only for large DAX enterprises. "Intercultural management is the factor for success that will also help small and medium-sized companies to position themselves abroad," emphasized Dr. Fritz Audebert, executive chairman of ICUnet.AG.

"Passau is the ideal place for a conference on the theme of international management," said Passau's Mayor, Juergen Dupper. "It's right at the heart of where the borders of three countries meet -- Austria, Czech Republic and Germany. It's an international commercial, educational and communications hub that has many partnerships with cities all over the world and its has a university with an international focus." The Intercultural Congress also sets important priorities for the region and "once more demonstrates Passau's intercultural cosmopolitanism," the Mayor added.
